Ginger Kroft Barnetson
“I don't know when I ever heard a clarinet sound better.” - The Californian. She has performed with groups such as the San Francisco Symphony, Opera and Ballet orchestras and performed under the baton of Pierre Boulez, Michael Tilson Thomas, Jeffrey Tate and Jahja Ling among others. Since 1997 Ginger has been a member of the Worn Chamber Ensemble, a group based in San Francisco who presents the best in 20th and 21st century chamber music. A graduate of Northwestern University, Bachelor of Music, her Principal teachers were Clark Brody and Russell Dagon. Ginger received a Master of Music degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where she studied with David Breeden and was awarded a Departmental Honor for Distinction in Performance. In 2003 Ginger joined a select few when she was added to the Vandoren International Artists list. Vandoren is a leading maker of clarinet reeds and accessories. Ginger plays M13-lyre mouthpieces with Traditional and V-12 reeds. Ginger is a faculty member at Santa Clara University where she teaches and collaborates with other faculty, performing solo recitals and chamber music concerts.
