Ji-Eun Kang - pianist

Cynthia Mei Praised as a "Lyrical and superb pianist" by the Washington Post, Ms. Kang's performances have been featured on ABC-TV, WJFF 90.5 FM, KBS-FM (Korea Broadcasting System) and MBC-TV (Munwha Broadcasting System). She has been the top prize- winner of international competitions including Washington, Olga Koussevitzky, Chopin-Koszciuszko, TCU Cliburn/Fort Worth Symphony Soloist Competition, Korea Music Foundation (in NY)'s Debut Recital Award, the Seoul Chamber Music Competition, and the Joong-Ang Music Competition.

Ms. Kang's solo appearances include the Fort Worth Chamber Symphony, the Charleston Festival Orchestra, the Friday Music Club Orchestra, the Seoul City Orchestra, and the Prime Philharmonic Orchestra. Her concerts include performances in Carnegie Weill Hall, Alice Tully Hall and Paul Hall at Lincoln Center, the United Nations, the Kennedy Center, Seoul Arts Center Grand Hall, and Sejong Cultural Grand Hall. As an avid chamber musician, Ms. Kang has also appeared in highly respected music festivals such as Aspen, the Music Academy of the West, Gilmore, Yellow Barn, Shandelee, TCU/Cliburn, and the College of Charleston's Piano Festival.

Ms. Kang received her Bachelor and Master of Music Degrees from the Juilliard School as a student of Abbey Simon. She has also studied with Maria Curcio Diamond, Jerome Lowenthal, Samuel Sanders and Yong-Hi Moon. Ms. Kang was awarded her Doctorate of Musical Arts Degree from Michigan State University as a full fellowship (Cobb Scholar) recipient, and was a founding member of the Ye Trio.
